The Population Services International (PSI) has come under fire for allegedly circumcising school going boys in Mulanje affecting their classes in the process.
The development has forced local leaders, education and child protection officers to raise a red flag arguing that this is a violation of rights of children to education as some absent themselves from school for two to three weeks after accessing the service.
But PSI’s Senior Communications Advisor Kudakwashe Murombedzi has refuted the claims.
According to Murombedzi, they deliver the service to school going children during weekends and on holidays to avoid disrupting their classes.
