Govt removes duty on sanitary pads

The Tonse Alliance government under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has removed duty on sanitary pads with an aim of ensuring hygiene among girls and women.
Minister of Finance and Economic Development Sosten Gwengwe has announced this in Parliament during presentation of the 2022/2023 national budget.
Gwengwe also hinted that the removal duty on sanitary pads will help in promoting education of the girl child.
The Minister also announced the removal of duty on solar panels.
