Former president and People’s Party (PP) Leader  Dr. Joyce Banda, has congratulated Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Hon. Sosten Gwengwe in what she calls for the well-articulated budget that gives hope to Malawians.

According to the former Malawi leader who worked with Gwengwe before, his integrity has inspired most Malawians for a long time and former president of US Obama was impressed by his visible confidence in holding a key position like that of Trade Minister when they held a meeting with him in the White House in 2013.

“I have never doubted your wisdom and your capacity to serve the people of Malawi with love and humility,” Dr. Joyce Banda wrote on her Facebook page.

She, however, said she is not surprised having had the opportunity to interact with Gwengwe’s parents and said may the Good Lord go before him, hold his hand, and continue guiding him in this mammoth task.

Hon Gwengwe, presented the 2022-23 National Budget yesterday at Parliament Building in Lilongwe and it is pegged at K2.84 trillion titled ‘𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲.’
