According to reports, the officer was stabbed by his enraged lover in the chest after he was found cavorting with another woman at a club in Kericho town.
He said the officer who had been cohabiting with the suspect in the quarters within the police station had allegedly not gone to the house for several days.
The woman, who is pregnant, reportedly became suspicious and launched a search for the officer and eventually found him with the woman at the famous joint and stabbed him in the chest with a knife.
Revellers who were with the officer intervened and saved the officer and in the process, one of them sustained cuts in his hands as he was disarming the woman. He was also taken to the same hospital where he was treated and discharged.
According to those close to the couple, the Wednesday incident was the fourth time that the officer had been stabbed by the woman.
After injuring the officer, the woman surrendered herself at Kericho police station thinking that she had killed him.
Doctors at the hospital revealed that the officer was in stable condition and he was lucky that the stab missed crucial organs.
