The Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) has asked the Public Appointments Committee (PAC) of Parliament, to summon Inspector General of police Dr.George Kainja, on the increased indicators of incompetence and criminal negligence.
According to CDEDI Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa, the IG Dr.George Kainja has failed to fulfill pledges of mending the sour relationship between police and the citizens and improve internal security lapse, such as, the recent murders and police stations break ins.
in his remarks, PAC Chairperson Joyce Chitsulo has vowed to write Dr. Kainja to respond on the matter and where necessary would be summoned to the committee.
