Police in Mzimba are keeping in custody a 22 year old man for allegedly murdering his biological father.
Mzimba police station deputy spokesperson John Nyirongo confirmed of the development.
According to Nyirongo, the incident happened at Elangeni in the district and identified the suspect as Ganizani Kalua and the deceased as Stoker Kalua.
It is reported that Ganizani came home drunk and after a misunderstanding with his father, Stoker Kalua aged 42, a fierce fight erupted between the two.
In the course of the fight Ganizani hit the father with a wooden stick rendering him unconscious in the process.
Then he took the unconscious father to his room where he was found dead during the night.
