Human Rights grouping under the banner Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has assured Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Czar Martha Chizuma that she still have it’s support.

This is in reaction to a criminal case opened against Chizuma by Zunneth Sattar’s business associate Ashok Kumar Sreedharan also known as Ashok Nair who is demanding damages from Chizuma for alleged defamation.

In a press statement seen by this publication, HRDC chairperson Gift Trapence said the coalition will still stand by Chizuma as she faces obstruction after obstruction in her quest to fight corruption.

“HRDC would like to assure her of our continued support as she faces obstruction after obstruction in her quest to fight corruption in the country,” reads a statement signed by the organization’s chairperson Gift Trapence.

The statement adds HRDC has faith in the Judiciary and believes all parties will be given a fair hearing to enable them make and defend their positions.

“Regardless, our faith in Ms Chizuma’s capability to shake the corruption tree to expose the rotten fruit is still intact and we believe she is still the right person for the job,” it adds.
