Three pupils from Saint Maria Goretti Primary School in Limbe have been swept by running water following a heavy downpour in the upland earlier

According to unconfirmed reports, the pupils had just been knocked off from school and were heading towards Kachere Township.

The pupils were reportedly playing in the deep roadside gullies when suddenly water swept them to Lunzu River.

Current reports indicate that one girl has been found in an unconscious state but hospital officials are yet to confirm.

Some residents from Machinjiri, Lunzu, and Kachere townships have lined up along the river to search for the remaining girls.
