Concerned Citizens in collaboration with Civil Society Organization (CSO) are demanding for the immediate removal of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Steve Kayuni following a decision by his office not to grant consent to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to prosecute corruption suspect businessman Zunneth Sattar.
The grouping, which is being led by Centre for Democracy Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa have written President Lazarus Chakwera to fire Kayuni.
According to the grouping the refusal by the office of the DPP to grant the consent is a block to justice while at the same time calling for stern political will in taming corruption in the country.
Further, the grouping has also penned the Malawi Human Rights Commission to summon Martha Chizuma, ACB Director to reveal the other person in her leaked phone call conversation in which she brought to lights some blocks in the fight against corruption.
The grouping has since threatened to call for demonstrations if their latest demands are not met.
