After cancelling their Wednesday day protests, Citizens Against Impunity and Corruption have announced that they will demonstrate against the Lilongwe City Council (LCC) Chief Executive Officer Lawford Palani.
According to one of the organizers Joshua Chisa Mbele the decision was reached following Palani’s u-turn on granting permission to demonstrate on the basis that the matter being demonstrated is still in court.
In a three paged letter, the group has written the Council which it describes as a racist institution they must urgently visit.
Again, the group describes the reason for the Council’s cancellation of the Wednesday protests as disgusting; saying citizens held the anti-Jane Ansah demonstrations at the same time the high profile presidential election was underway.
