Police in Zimbabwe have arrested a well known witchdoctor for raping a 12-year-old girl in the name removing evil spirits.
Police Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest of a 49-year-old man, Master Ndlovu who left the minor unconscious after raping her.
According to Nyathi, Master Ndlovu approached the girl and told her she was possessed and needed some cleansing before commanding the victim to remove all her clothes.
”He smeared some substance on the victim and gave her some herbs to consume and became unconscious,” he said.
Ndlovu will appear before court to answer charges of rape.
