Police in Mangochi have arrested a 68 year old man for allegedly attempting to rape a 22 year old young lady.
According to unconfirmed reports, the man who hails from Chimwala village in the district found the young lady (name withheld) working in her groundnuts garden.
Upon realizing that the old man’s intentions were ill, the young lady screamed for help and people who were nearby came to the rescue of the young lady.
The matter was later reported to police which resulted into the arrest of the man.
Another version of the story shared by alleged the man’s child indicate that the old man and the lady were in a sexual affairs.
And on the fateful day, the two had agreed to meet in the ground nuts garden to do the nasty unfortunately people saw them earlier.
When the young lady realised that they have been seen, she started shouting for help claiming the man wanted to rape her.
The man will appear before court very soon.
