ROCK of glory Church Bishop Andrew Mununga said the country has been attacked by the spirit of suicide, abortion and road accidents, so President Hakainde Hichilema should call for an emergency national day of prayer.

In an interview, Bishop Mununga said such incidents were spiritual attacks whose solution lay in prayer.

“There are about two or more things that are happening in our country. There is a spirit of suicide, spirit of abortion and spirit of road accidents. These things are happening at the same time and it’s not by accident but we are under such attack,” he said.

“These are spiritual attacks that are on the list of the nation of Zambia and the solution to that effect is that the Head of State Hakainde Hichilema together with his team must call for an emergency day of prayer where the Church could be called upon so that we stand together in the gap for our nation. When we pray, definitely the Lord will hear us. The problem is that people want to take it so academic. They want to take it as business as usual; even when such occurrences are actually as a result of being attacked.”

He said politicians could not handle the spiritual aspect because they wanted to overcome it using academics and political strategies.

He cited ‘plans to legalise’ polygamy as a spiritual problem.

“This thing of trying to allow polygamy and abortion, those are demonic attacks that have befallen our country and if we don’t handle it well it will have a lot of impact that even the politicians themselves they will not be in the position in handle them,” said Bishop Mununga.

“So, let the Head of State call upon the Church and we are more than willing to come and pray and stand in the gap. Look at what is happening between Russia and Ukraine. The Ukrainians have come together to defend their country. They are doing everything to defend the well-being of their nation. How much more should we, the Church, the men and women of God…We should even sacrifice more to pray and fast.”
