According to Mwenya, the industry has about 15,828 registered sex workers, but despite that, the country has not yet legalised the world’s oldest profession.

Mwenya added that deliberating laws that will help s3x worker is a way of empowering women.

She also called on the public to respect s3x workers because they are human like any other person just of different occupation.

She continued that through the job, s3x workers manage to feed their families and pay school fees for their children.

Ms Mwewa who in 2016 divorced her husband in order to persue her career dream, disclosed that her members in Solwezi, Nakonde, Kapiri Mposhi, Kasumbalesa and Livingstone make between K15,000 to K25,000 per month and some are even building hence the need for the public and the government to respect the profession.
