Police in Kasungu are keeping in custody two butchermen plying their business at Santhe Trading Centre in connection to the beheading of a businessman, Tiyese Kazinga.

Kazinga who was buying and selling goats was murdered at Thasa Village in the area on the night of March 3, and his headless body was found dumped in a forest reserve.

Kasungu police spokesperson, Joseph Kachikho says the two suspects, Eliko Chimangeni, 30, and Alfred Funsani, 35, were arrested following a call log.

“Police investigations revealed that Kazinga on a fateful day received a call from the two suspects that they had goats for sell and he left his home but never returned until it was discovered that he was murdered,” said Kachikho.

Eliko Chimangeni hails from Kawalika Village while Alfred Fusani hails from Chantama village both from Traditional Authority Khongoni in Lilongwe District.
