The Office of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has said will this week file the appeal against a lower court’s ruling in Ntcheu which acquitted Vincent Dzimadzi on charges of an act intended to cause grievous harm last week.

The development comes amid an outcry from the general public with many claiming that money exchanged hands on the matter.

Speaking in an interview with one of the local media houses in the country,DPP Steve Kayuni said all is set for an appeal.

Kauyni said the state will be appealing on the point of law as required by the court process.

Dzimadzi was arrested last year following a video clip that went viral on WhatsApp showing him beating-up a 14 year old boy in a torturous manner.

The boy was accused of stealing Irish potatoes belonging to Dzimadzi.
