Partners in Health (PIH) Malawi on Monday paid tribute to its United States of America born co-founder, Dr. Paul Farmer who died in Rwanda on February 21,2022 during a requiem Mass held in his honour at its offices in Neno district.

Speaking during the prayer service, PIH Malawi Country Director, Luckson Dullie said the death robbed the organization of its visionary leader who was brains behind the core project activities implemented in Neno.

“It is a big loss. Paul provided us with vision; he was the energy behind everything that PIH was doing. He believed in humanity and made sure that we all share the spirit,” he said.

The Country Director added that, “The loss is definitely felt throughout the organization and to be honest, we cannot have any other Paul Farmer.”

He observed that it was reassuring that although PIH has experienced such a great loss, there was no threat to its sustainability as Dr. Farmer left a vibrant structural system for fund raising in the organization.
