Police in Kawale have arrested two men for break-in offenses and recovered stolen items.

Kawale Police Station publicist Sub Inspector Mabvuto Phiri has confirmed the development to FaceofMalawi.

According to Sub Inspector Phiri, the two were arrested on March 9, 2022, following intensive investigations by Area 23 detectives and the team have managed to recover stolen items worthy of a million kwacha, among the recovered items, are Speakers, Hi sense plasma screen, speakers, battery terminals, cubical stools, and some assorted items.

The suspect committed the offense between the month of January and February 2022 in Area 23, Kawale township.

“Meanwhile, the suspects are in our Police custody and will appear in court soon to answer the case of breaking into a building and committing a felony therein which is contrary to section 311(1) of the penal code,” said Phiri.

Chingwalu hails from Mdindo Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chadza in Lilongwe District while Adam comes from Amani Village, Traditional Authority Mkula in Machinga.
