A 28 year old man of Ndola identified as Mebin Mutale has committed suicide by taking taking doom after he was unfairly dismissed from work as a security guard.
Police who visited the scene found an empty bottle of doom pesticide with a note explaining why he decided to take his own life. The incident occurred on Tuesday around 21:30 hours whilst the deceased was attending a funeral of his 25 year old biological sister who died in a road accident.
It is alleged that while he was attending a family funeral, Mr Mutale received a call from his supervisors that he has been dismissed from work for taking more than 3 days at the funeral. Reports say the deceased was absent from work since Friday because he was attending the funeral of his young sister as he was a family bread winner but his superiors did not listen to his explanation as they told him not to report for work any more as he was dismissed with immediate effect. This forced the poor man to commit suicide just at the funeral house on Tuesday this week.
Mr Mutale was disturbed that the funeral of his late young sister has costed him a job he used to receive K1,200 per month. He has left behind his wife and 2 children.
