The body of Radio Alinafe Station Manager Beatrice Kampango will be laid to rest this coming Friday at her home village Kasalika, around Mangunda in Thyolo District.
Kampango died at Daeyang Luke Hospital in Lilongwe on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
Kampango joined the Catholic Church-owned Radio Alinafe as a volunteer in 2003. She was one of 15 volunteers that formed the second cohort of volunteers for the station.
For about 20 years, Kampango dedicated her life to the development of Radio Alinafe and broadcasting industry in Malawi, rising to the positions of full-time presenter and producer, music and production manager in the process. She rose to the position of station manager in 2021.
During her time in the media sector, Kampango worked hard and used her skills and experience to promote and develop up-and-coming journalists.
