United Transformation Movement’s Kuwala Youth Network (UTM) Secretary Rasool Jackson, has resigned from his position and being a member of the party with immediate effect.

According to a letter he has addressed to the party’s senior officials, he feels pity for what is happening now being one of those who preached the message of change, hope but life has become too tough for Malawians due to the current situation in the country.

“Prices of essential goods like cooking oil, sugar, soap are being hiked on a daily basis and I feel sorry as the silence by our party leadership to come in the open and tell the nation the truth, I feel like is creating a boundary between the party and its supporters,” Jackson said in his letter.

He further said that when a party distances itself from its supporters, that’s a calamity and many Malawians have lost trust in the party and its leadership as they don’t differentiate between the party and its allies.

“Let it be known as well that am also one of the founders of Kuwala Youth Network I, therefore, tender my resignation both as Kuwala Youth Network Secretary and member of UTM with immediate effect,” he said.

He highlighted that the public will be informed on his next political journey but in the meantime, he will concentrate much on his personal errands.

He wished the party well but reminded them to remember that it is people that put them where they are today and one day they shall have a say when they will need them most.
