A 21 year-old house servant, Nelson Kaluwa has committed suicide by hanging himself to the roof of a beer drinking shelter at Sanga trading center in Nkhata Bay district without leaving a suicide note.
According to Nkhata Bay police spokesperson, Sergeant Kondwani James, reports indicate that Kaluwa left home on Sunday evening after finishing his household chores and was found hanging to the roof of the said beer drinking shelter on Monday morning.
James further says the owner of the drinking place discovered the man hanging and reported the matter to Nkhata Bay police who visited the scene in accompany of medical personnel who confirmed that he died due to strangulation.
Meanwhile as such cases continue rising in the district, police have since advised the general public to be sharing their problems with others who can help solve them unlike opting for suicide as the lasting solution to their problems.
Nelson Kaluwa was working as a house servant at a retired teacher’s house (name withheld) and he hailed from Chikanga village in traditional authority Nthalire in Chitipa district.
