The Second Grade Magistrate court in Mponela on March 22, 2022 has convicted and sentenced Chosadziwa Banda, 28 years to be in prison for the next 3 years for breaking into head masters office and committing felony there in.

The court heard through state prosecutor Sub Inspector Mphatso Banda that on March 10,2022 the reporter who is also a headmaster at Madisi Primary School reported to police that his office was broken into by unknown criminals who went away with 13 plastic buckets, ten plastic chairs and one big hand washing bucket all valued at K155 000.

On March 16, 2022 Madisi Police Unit detectives received a tip that Chosadziwa Banda was offering for sale some of the plastic chairs and was arrested.

Appearing in court, Banda pleaded guilty to the charge of breaking into a building and committing felony there in which contravenes section 311 of the penal code.

In his submission, Sub Inspector Mphatso Banda prayed for a stiffer punishment to deter other would be offenders.

The Second Grade Magistrate Davie Mpakani concurred with the state and sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment with hard labor.

Banda hails from Chisazima village in the area of Traditional Authority Kaomba in Kasungu District.
