Supreme Court of Appeal Justice Lovemore Chikopa has reserved his ruling on former Homeland Security Minister, Uladi Mussa’s application for bail pending hearing and determination of the appeal.

One of Mussa’s lawyers, Chancy Gondwe, asked the Supreme Court of Appeal in Blantyre this morning to release his client on bail on grounds that he is likely to succeed with the appeal, among others.

However, lawyer for the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Chrispin Khunga, argued against the application, saying chances that the appeal will succeed are minimal.

Mussa was slapped with a 5 year custodial sentence in 2020 for illegally granting passports and citizenship to foreigners.
