A 3-year-old boy has died after being attacked by a dog belonging to his uncle’s employer at Njewa location on Sunday, March 27, 2022 in Lilongwe.

It is said that on this day, the deceased’s uncle, Luwis Saidi, 39, who works for a Chinese national as a driver, was away on duty at Chilambula.

Both the victim’s family and the Chinese employer reside in one compound at Njewa residence that belongs to the latter.

It was at 16:00 hours when uncle to the deceased received a telephone call from his boss, Chao Ji, that his nephew had been seriously injured by a dog, and that he should rush home for hospital arrangements.

The victim was rushed to ABC Private Clinic for medical attention where he was then referred to Kamuzu Central Hospital.

Unfortunately, the boy was pronounced dead at the said facility at around 1900 hours.

Postmortem results done by Kamuzu Central Hospital indicated that death was due to Hemorrhage and wounds caused by dog trauma.

The deceased, Khudze Kwembe hailed from Makumba Village, Traditional Authority Msanama in Machinga District.

The said vicious dog was neutralized same day by its dog handler who is currently in police custody.
