Dr. Noel Kayange has today testified in the chief resident magistrate’s court in Blantyre in a matter which Andrew Ngomwa was convicted for defiling and raping his niece.
On Monday last week, the court issued a warrant of arrest for the doctor for defying court order that ordered him to testify, but the warrant was later suspended after his lawyer intervened.
Ngomwa, former MASM Chief Commercial Officer, needed evidence from Dr. Kayange who was his consultant doctor to help him in mitigation as he awaits sentencing.
Chief resident magistrate Jean Kayira will this Wednesday pass her ruling on whether or not to refer the matter to the high court for sentencing or not as applied by state.
