The office of Ombudsman has found that Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Export Development Fund ( EDF) Gerald Nsomba was wrongly and procedurally recruited.

Presenting report findings of an investigation into the alleged uprocedural and irregular recruitment of the CEO in Lilongwe on Friday, Ombudsman Grace Malera told journalists that Nsomba did not meet the minimum requirement of possession of ‘at least a master’s degree in Economics, Finance or Banking as Nsomba presented a post-graduate advance diploma during interviews.

Said Malera: “I make a finding that the board of EDF procedurally transacted the business pertaining to the proposal for EDF to make a job re-offer to Mr. Nsomba. More importantly, the board of EDF acted unreasonably by making a job offer to a candidate in 2020, on the basis of interviews that the board had administered in 2017.”
