Self Acclaimed Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is once again finding himself on the news trending after some months he left South Africa.
Prophet Bushiri is the founder and leading pastor of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) whose headquarters were in Pretoria but relocated to his home country Malawi when he escaped South Africa.
South African News outpost, News24 reported that The assets of Enlightened Christian Gathering Church leader Shepherd Bushiri, worth more than R203 million (MK 11, 376, 120, 000), could be sequestrated because of the troubled pastor’s failure to oppose an ex parte court application brought to court by his creditors.
The sequestration hearing is expected to take place on the 27th of May 2022. He already settled in Malawi and building another church.
Bushiri and his wife Mary fled the country when they were granted bail after charges relating to fraud and money laundering were laid against them.
Meanwhile, the Prophet’s publicist is yet to comment on the matter.
