Following a public outcry on a 41 man entourage on vice president Saulos Chilima’s trip to the US, State House has responded.

Speaking this morning at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe during State House briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Anthony Kasunda said President Chakwera does not dictate on how things should be done after delegating.

According to Kasunda, Chilima is a competent man.

“But on this particular trip, the president delegated the vice president but Chakwera did not tell Chilima how to do it because the vice president is a competent man,” says Kasunda.

He added that it is wrong to send two people on a foreign trip to do a job that requires 10 people.
