Muslims in the country started fasting on Sunday 3 April, marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadhan.
Stakeholders together with the president, Dr Lazarus Chakwera have extended his best wishes to all Muslims in the country for the blessed month of Ramadhan.
The president has encouraged all Muslims in the country to strengthen their faith and enrich devotion to peace during the month.
Sheikh Idrissah Muhammad, Chairman for Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM), asked the Muslims to do charitable work by providing food items to people affected by cyclone Gombe and Anna.
“I am asking every Muslim in this country to pray for the economy which has been devastated in the nation and the world at large”, he said
The time of Ramadhan allows Muslims to give and understand the pain of other people in the world who are deeply in poverty and being more thankful to what the Lord has blessed
