Mzuzu based resident, Frighton Phombo has asked a magistrate court in the city to open a case against the Anti – Corruption Bureau Director, Martha Chizuma on allegations that she directly revealed official information to an unauthorized person in an leaked audio conversation.
Senior Resident Magistrate, Godfrey Kanyembanyemba Nyirenda has therefore ordered the Malawi Police Service (MPS), and the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), to investigate authenticity of the recordings that Mphompho brought to court as evidence.
The court has directed MPS, and DPP to provide findings of the investigations within 90 days from today Tuesday, the 7th of April, 2022.
In January this year, there was a leaked audio, purportedly a conversation between Chizuma and an unknown person talking about some ongoing joint investigations with Britain’s National Crimes Agency.
