National Oil Company of Malawi (Nocma) has today donated K5 million towards Malawi Defence Force (MDF) sports festival expected to place in Salima later this month.
Nocma deputy chief executive officer Helen Buluma presented the donation to Brigadier John Chaika, chairperson for the organizing committee of the festival.
Speaking after making the donation, Buluma said they thought of making the donation to assist the upcoming event.
According to Buluma this is one way of cementing the longtime relationship standing between NOCMA and MDF.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Chaika hailed NOCMA’s gesture saying the donation will go a long way to make the upcoming sports festival a success.
Concurring with Chaika is General Henderson Chilenga Chief of Sports and Culture at MDF who added that the competition will help to select athletes that will triumph accolades at the upcoming events such as the All Africa Championship and Commonwealth Games.
