The world’s richest man Elon Musk recently stunned the world after he revealed that he is homeless.
For someone who is as wealthy as Elon Musk, one would expect that the business mogul owns mansions and has a number of luxury homes all over the world, but, alas, he doesn’t have a home of his own.
Speaking during an interview on TED with Chris Anderson, Elon Musk revealed he doesn’t own a home. He said he has been sleeping in friends’ spare bedrooms.
“I don’t even own a place right now, I’m literally staying at friends’ places.”
“If I travel to the Bay Area, which is where most of Tesla’s engineering is, I basically rotate through friends’ spare bedrooms,” Elon Musk.
Elon Musk also revealed that he does not own a yacht and does not take holidays. He said the only thing flashy he has is a plane which he uses for work purposes.
“I don’t have a yacht, I don’t take vacations, so it’s not as though my personal consumption is high.”
“One exception is a plane but if I don’t use the plane I have less hours to work,” he said.
Elon Musk is the founder of various businesses including Tesla, SpaceX and The Boring Company. At the moment, he is in the process of trying to buy Twitter.
According to Bloomberg, Elon Musk has an estimated net worth of $251 billion.
It is quite surprising that a wealthy man like Elon Musk lives a humble life and doesn’t go around flashing his multibillion-dollar wealth around like many billionaires out there who live a pompous lifestyle.
Even his long-term on-and-off partner Grimes recently opened up on how Elon Musk “does not live like a billionaire”.
