Senior Resident Magistrate Shahida Haneef Bakili in Mulanje has slapped 21-year-old Bizwick Dandaula with 15 years imprisonment for defiling a 13-year-old girl in the district.

Mulanje Police spokesperson, Gresham Ngwira confrimed of the development.

According to Ngwira, Dandaula defiled the girl on April 11 this year and the victim’s relatives reported the matter to Nkando Police Unit.

In her ruling, Bakili concurred with state prosecutor Sub Inspector Lawrence Kambale that Dandaula deserved a stiffer punishment to deter would be offenders.
