Zambian Comedian Ken Dumbo has accused President Hakainde Hichilema of wasting taxpayers’ money following his continued stay at his private home in new Kasama.
Writing on his Facebook page, Dumbo despite having a nice private home, Hichilema must embrace the fact that he is a Zambian leader and for that his new home is Nkwazi House.
According to Dumbo, if not careful Hichilema will be held accountable once he leaves office for allegedly misusing public resources such as money and the men in uniform who on a daily basis stand in the street waiting for the president to pass through, from and to his private resident after serving Zambians at state house.
He then asked Hichilema of considering to relocate to the Nkwazi House where the president and his family are supposed to live as a way of managing resources.
Below is what Dumbo wrote.
I love our President Hakainde Hichilema and I really want the best for him, I want him to serve this country without worrying about being stripped off of his immunity and taken to Court after he leaves office.
Unfortunately, what seems right now for him that he is the Number 1 Most Important person in this country will one day be looked at as “AN ABUSE OF PUBLIC RESOURCES WITHOUT FOLLOWING PROPER LAID DOWN PROCEDURES”.
The Continuous stay of the President at his private residence no matter the change of name to “COMMUNITY HOUSE” is in my opinion an abuse of state resources.
Without attaching Political emotions to this case, Think of this my brothers and sisters
- The State continues to spend so much money on fuel and security for the movement of the President from his Private Residence to State House and back almost “EVERY DAY” . That money can help in other sectors especially Health.
- The State has to see to it that they install High security equipment at a “Private Residence” of a sitting President using state resources not forgetting about ensuring they provide uninterrupted Power supply to the private residence of a sitting President. This means more expenses on a private property to a sitting President.
- Allowances of sweepers and Police security officers who stand beside the road to wait for the President to pass.
Truth be told, today almost all police stations complain of low man Power at stations and their failure to curb some criminal activities, if these people are stationed in our community Police stations and communities, the crime rate may reduce.
- Inconveniencing the General Public – Let’s stop 🛑 pretending – every time the President is passing in these, we are all treated like we aren’t tax payers. We all have to wait for the President to pass which in the end inconveniences the general Publics movement as some are rushing for work, going to the hospital and general business. WHICH IS BAD.
- Lastly, There is a House every elected Zambian President must live in when elected and sworn in to avoid above expenses and inconveniencing the general public. Our plea is LET THE PRESIDENT MOVE TO NKWAZI HOUSE, Other Presidents have lived there too, and you are not the first one Sir.
Yes your House is nice Sir and it’s state of the art BUT a Zambian President Must Live at Nkwazi House, You are President of Zambia now and that’s where you and your family must live.
Otherwise your continuous stay at your private residence Sir is a cost to this country and inconveniences the general public one Day, We (Zambians) shall hold you accountable Sir.

Now let me let leave it to those that DON’T MEAN WELL FOR YOU DEFEND YOU!!
I rest my case.
