Malawi leader Lazarus Chakwera is being dared by a Civil Society Organization under the banner Center for Democracy Watch (CEDWAT) to clean his hands on the rumors that he is spearheading the removal of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma.
National Coordinator for CEDWAT Levi Luwemba claims that there are growing statements that Chakwera might be on the forefront frustrating the works of Chizuma to fight corruption especially the infamous Zunneth Sattar scandal by using some public offices hence a call for Chakwera to distance himself.
CEDWAT has therefore urged the Chakwera administration not to try and frustrate Chizuma in the course of her duty of fighting corruption in the country.
Chakwera who has been saying his administration will not shield anyone involved in corruption cases is yet to comment on the assertions.
There have been reports that a certain group of people involved in the Sattar corruption scandal are working tireless with an aim of having Chizuma fired as ACB Czar.
However, Chizuma has a public court which is defending her from left and right of which most of them say they are doing so because they see Chizuma as the weapon which will help the country to be a corrupt free nation.
