Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have asked the Tonse Alliance administration to put their hands off Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma or else face public wrath.

There are reports that some individuals are executing plans to frustrate the works of Chizuma and plotting for her firing as a way of putting her off the Zunneth Sattar corruption scandal.

According to reports, the leaked audio clip which Chizuma was discussing her work related issues to unknown individual, will be used to render her incompetent thus pushing for her dismissal.

However, CSOs in the country have warned that if anything to happen to Chizuma they will not sit down and fold their hands but to stand up and fight.

National Coordinator for Center for Democracy Watch (CEDWAT) Levi Luwemba said any plan to frustrate, demonize and push for Chizuma’s removal will not be tolerated.

According to Luwemba some people are behind this with an aim to continue with the free for all plundering of the hard-earned taxpayers’ money.

“We refuse to join the bandwagon of those busy watering, I stead of clearing the rubble” said Luwemba.

On the other hand Charles Kajoloweka of Youth And Society (YAS) has demanded professionalism from police, and has asked it to desist being used as a weapon of what he called judicial harassment.

All this was a reaction to the summon the police placed on Chizuma which was supposed to take place today at National Police Headquarters in Lilongwe before being postponed to a later date.

Police have since distanced themselves from being influenced by politicians.
