Activist cum comedian Bon Kalindo has called off his planned Anti-Martha Chizuma demonstrations in which he gave President Lazarus Chakwera 7 days to fire her as the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General.
According to Kalindo, President Chakwera and his vice Saulos Chilima are failing to uphold rule of law, on the issue of the ACB director in relation to the controversial leaked audio.
He added that his decision to suspend the demonstrations follows the order by the Lilongwe High Court which has stopped the Malawi police to investigate Chizuma on the leaked audio clip.
However, Kalindo stressed that he is not fighting Chizuma but he is following the rule of law.
Social commentators and other Civil Society organizations are accusing then leadership of Chakwera of sabotaging and frustrating the works of Chizuma as ACB Czar by creating baseless accusations.
However, the groupings, have warned that they will not relent until the truth prevails in the Sattar corruption scandal,
