The Blantyre Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to six people accused of stealing 437 000 gate revenue at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
Senior resident magistrate Akya Mwanyongo has since adjourned the case to May 13.
Among the bail conditions, each suspect has been ordered to pay K50 000 bail bond, surrender travelling documents and report to Soche Police every fortnight on Mondays.
The accused include four gate cashiers Chiyembekezo Buffalo, 22, Tingo Fungulani (22),Prince Ndalama (19) and Gladys Meja (23). The other two are Laston Theu (27) and Wyson Chingana (35), who are directors of Unity Gate Management System, the firm that was hired to collect cash at the gates during a TNM Super League match between Mighty Wanderers and Sable Farming.
