Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 51-year-old man identified as Dauka Manondo on suspicion that he insulted Honourable Vera Tambala Kamtukule, Minister of Labour through a social media post on April 24, 2022.

On the said date the President of the Republic was coming from Mozambique through Kamuzu International Airport. And the honourable minister, Kamtukule was among the dignitaries who were at the airport welcoming the head of state.

The suspect, Manondo, posted a picture of the said honourable minister taken at the airport, on the whatsapp platform known as ‘OUR POLITICAL SQUARE’, captioned it with insulting words.

Upon seeing the post, some members of the said whatsapp forum were not happy and felt uncomfortable with the alleged insulting words.

As a result those women who are five in number lodged a complaint at Lilongwe Police on behalf of honourable Kamtukule.

Meanwhile, the suspect, Dauka Manondo, who hails from Manondo Village, Traditional Authority Simon in Neno, has been charged with _Cyber Harassment_, a case which contravenes section 86 of Cyber Crimes Act.
