Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Central Region Executive Committee has said it does not recognize a political rally the party’s Southern Region vice-president, Kondwani Nankhumwa, has organised for Sunday.
The committee made the remarks during a media briefing in Lilongwe on Saturday rally that the party has organized.
An Executive Committee member, Zelia Chakale, said every member of the party is supposed to follow procedures when they want to hold public meetings.
Chakale said the only rally the party recognises is Saturday’s which DPP has organized through its National Governing Council in coordination with the Central Region Executive Committee.
Posters announcing Nankhumwa’s rally have been flying around with DPP Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey indicating there is nothing wrong with how the event has been organized.
