Sentencing of the Democratic Progressive Party Regional Governor for the Centre, David Kambalame, who was convicted for assaulting Malawi Congress Party Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka, has been adjourned to Friday this week.
Magistrate Court in Lilongwe failed to deliver the sentence following the citizens protests on high cost of living that were happening today.
Kambalame was arrested in July 2020 after committing the offence ahead of the court-ordered June 2020 presidential election.
He is said to have assaulted Mkaka who went to the police station to report an incident where some people suspected to be DPP members were allegedly collecting national IDs from potential voters
