Information reaching this publication indicates that there is tight security in Mzuzu as Malawians led by some right activists are scheduled to hold demonstrations aimed at forcing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to fire Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda, Director of Public Prosecutions Dr. Steven Kayuni and Inspector General of Police Dr. George Kainja.

Protesters have started gathering at Katoto ground in Mzuzu where they will march to Mzuzu State Lodge to present a petition to President Chakwera.

A visit to the Katoto ground faceofmalawi bumped into heavy armed police officers both in uniform and civilians with anti-riot vehicles all over.

The protesters led by Phunziro Mvula want Chakwera to fire the three on grounds that they are calling “sabotaging corruption fight” by frustrating the Anti-Corruption Bureau – ACB Director General Martha Chizuma.
