Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa has given President Lazarus Chakwera 14 days to find solutions to economic challenges besetting Malawians.
Nankhumwa issued the ultimatum on Sunday during a rally organized by the party’s Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey at Mgona in Lilongwe.
In his speech Nankhumwa said time had come for Chakwera to stop “wasting time” on crop inspections and concentrate on real issues.
“Everyone is suffering in this country and the President has no remorse at all to side with Malawians. Instead, he is busy draining the little public resources travelling every day doing crop inspection, including external travels,” said Nankhumwa while attracting ululations from the public.
Nankhumwa warned of unspecified action if Chakwera fails to heed advice to correct the economic situation.
Effort to talk to Minister of Information Gospel Kazako proved futile.
