Ministry of Health has said it has registered 17 new Cholera cases, bringing the total number of Cholera cases in the country to 160 including six deaths.

Of the 17 new cases reported, 11 cases are from Blantyre, one case from Chikwawa, one case from Nsanje and four cases from Neno.

Cumulatively, Nsanje has recorded 89 cases, Neno 28, Blantyre 36, Machinga two and Chikwawa five cases.

This is despite efforts by the Ministry of Health and its partners to contain the outbreak.

The Ministry is urging the public to follow good hygiene practices such as use of safe water for domestic use, hand washing with soap and eating hygienic food to prevent further spread.
