Professor Golden Msilimba, technical advisor for DMI St John The Baptist University has clarified on the communications from National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) to the public concerning the temporary suspension of education programs at Mangochi campus.

Msilimba made the clarification on Friday during a graduation ceremony for DMI St John The Baptist University at Blantyre campus.

He said the University is fully operation at its Blantyre and Lilongwe campuses with all programs accredited by NCHE.

“All the concerns that were raised by NCHE has been fully addressed through the association of private Universities in Malawi and inspection will be done this month end and by God’s grace the temporary suspension for education programs at Mangochi campus will be lifted by June which is next month”, explained Msilimba.

According to Msilimba the university has recruited additional professors in education and revised teaching practice handbook.

Guest of honor at the graduation Dr Rose Nyirenda, Director for Department of HIV viral hepatitis’s in the Ministry of Health appreciated the University for complementing government effort by training psychotherapists.

“We are very impressed as a ministry for the University’s effort to train the psychotherapy counseling personnel’s who are very few in the country, this will boost the number of the psychotherapists in the nation”, she lauded

The University has graduated a total number of 116 students in certificate in psychotherapy counseling and certificate in HIV testing services
