Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) National Governing Council is scheduled to meet and decide if Christopher Mzomera Ngwira is to re-assume his role as the Regional Governor for the Northern Region or not.

DPP Organizing Secretary Chimwemwe Chipungu has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Mzomera Ngwira was fired from his position as DPP Regional Governor for the North after his conviction in case where he was accused of misappropriating CDF funds.

Ngwira was released on Monday from prison following his appeal which the court ruled in his favour.

Ackim Mwanza is currently a DPP governor for the North and was appointed on the post by former President Peter Mutharika.
