Veteran musician Lucius Banda has expressed shock over the untimely death of South Africa’s gospel singer Deborah Fraser.
The legendary singer died on Sunday after battling a short illness, the family said in a statement on social media.
“It is with deep sadness to inform you of the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, and Gospel musician, Dr Deborah Fraser, following a short illness,” reads the statement.
Writing on his official facebook page, Banda said he is deeply shocked with Freser’s death.
“Rest in peace Debora Freser. My backing vocalist for son of poor man 1993. May the Lord reward you for the good works,” wrote Banda.
Freser died at the age of 56.
