Former President Peter Mutharika, who is also leader of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), has said he will at an appropriate time speak on calls that he should contest again in 2025 Presidential polls.

This comes as more top gurus in the DPP led by regional governor for the South Charles Mchacha continue to lobby him to represent the blue camp in 2025.

Mutharika, through his spokesperson Shadric Namalomba, has since described such calls as a signal that he managed the country well.

Namalomba claims that people are remembering the sweet days of Mutharika, hence opting for his return.

He could not, however, justify as to which such sweet days were.

However, Namalomba was not clear if Mutharika is willing to contest again in 2025 or not, saying the former head of state is now working on rebuilding the party.
