Mbadwa Zokhudzidwa za Dziko la Malawi, a grouping of some Concerned Citizens has said the vigils aimed at forcing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to fire Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma will commence tomorrow at Parliament building in Lilongwe.
Initially, the vigils were scheduled to commence yesterday but the grouping postponed it due to a plea by the Malawi police service.
The group wants Chakwera to fire Chizuma for what it says is violation of oath of secrecy following a leaked phone conversation with an unknown person.
The vigils will last for a period of 7 days and if no action is taken the grouping will take a step further by closing ACB offices.
Apart from this, lead organiser of the Vigils, Redson Munlo wants government to ban and revoke trading licenses of companies that seem to rip off Malawians by increasing prices of commodities such as sugar and cooking oil.
Faceofmalawi will keep you update on the matter.
